Well, once again it is Measurement Day. It is Day 60 of my 90-Day journey. I had a few challenges over the past few weeks, but overall am still going strong!
Between Halloween and my son’s birthday, I escaped relatively unscathed (although I allowed myself a rather large slice of birthday cake, and yes, a fully loaded baked potato in there as well!!), but I was sure to “clean things up” afterward and continue on my path. I also am happy to say “sayonara” to one particular cleanse day that beat me up a bit (yes it was the ‘day after’ my big cake splurge!!!), but am delighted to follow this up with the fact that I stuck with it and the next day I felt amazing!! I should also say that it is not my long-range goal to totally deprive myself of all things culinarily sinful(!!!), but instead, to ‘stay strict’ until I reach my goals, then gradually shift into “maintenance mode” where I plan to reach a balance between staying healthy, fit and lean, and also enjoying (within reason!) the “splurgy” things in life!! Attainable? Yes, I think so! — but I’m determined to put this theory to the test (and I’m happy to take you along for the ride!!).
So here are the results after just 60 days…
I’m pleased to say I’ve released 26 unwanted pounds (gooooood riddance), but what makes me even more excited is the 33 & 3/4 inches lost off of the 14 different measurements I’ve been monitoring, and what makes me EVEN more excited, is the fact that I’m feeling like a million bucks, I’m sleeping like a log, and I have a lot more energy lately! …and as if this isn’t enough, I’ve found that for the most part, I am rarely having those horrible evening cravings for junk food! Yippee! On those days when I’m feeling particularly challenged by my journey, I take a moment to review my progress and take a good long look at my little son and find my motivation returns to stay on track! I’ve also been reading many of your encouraging emails and am thankful for your support!
Before I sign off, I want to thank those who have offered words of encouragement and would also like to mention a few people who’s stories have given me inspiration over the past few weeks…
Alice W. from Owen Sound who’s Facebook post was truly inspiring… After just 30 days being coached by our Wallis For Wellness staff, she released 12.9 lbs and 3 jean sizes and through tracking her activity via Fit Bit walked 469,620 steps, biked 92 kms, was active for 1720 minutes and broke her Diet Pepsi addiction to boot! Congrats to you Alice!
Amy H. from Peterborough who shared her success via text saying she had released 22″ and attained a new ‘personal best’ in her front squat of 165 lbs.!! Thanks for the inspiration Amy! Awesome job!
