Pilates
Pilates was developed many years ago by Joseph Pilates and has since become a great exercise program for people of all ages and all fitness levels. Once thought of as a dancer's workout, Pilates is now utilized by professional athletic teams and fitness buffs who are looking for a more effective method of core conditioning. Pilates is also great for people who are new to exercise or returning to an active lifestyle.

Pilates works the entire core area, from the knees to the chest, helping to build abdominal strength, tighten the muscles in the lower body, increase flexibility and promote balance. Pilates will make you more aware of your body since there is much focus on proper alignment and control. Your posture will also improve so that you will stand taller and feel stronger.

Pilates is also beneficial for people with lower back concerns as the exercises help to stabilize the muscles in the abdominals and lower back therefore building strength and promoting muscular balance.

Pilates is considered to be a form of "functional training" since the movements used will aid your performance in daily activities and/or sports. Using a more dynamic approach than traditional Pilates, Jodi Livingstone's Pilates will give you better results in less time.
