What to expect!
Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is an assisted stretch technique performed by a Certified Fascial Stretch Therapist. It can be done on or off a massage table.
Fascia surrounds our muscles, bones, and organs. It’s what keeps us together. Stretching fascia gets deeper than typical muscle stretching.
The techniques used in FST deepens the range of motion because it targets the joint capsule, where most of our flexibility is held. By opening up the Fascial network we increase circulation and blood flow - this releases endorphins that can help decrease pain. Creating more space in the joint capsule reduces tension in the muscles and releases stress.
Releasing fascia breaks down adhesions between the tissues realigning them, freeing up muscles and allowing easier and more effective movement. The body feels aligned and balanced.
For long term physical health a flexibility and mobility program must be the foundation of any wellness plan. It needs to be part of a daily routine and specific to the needs of the person.
